Continuing in thought from the discussion at Amy Welborn’s, I’m not sure that the partial birth abortion ban is the best place to focus current pro-life activities. PBA is barbaric, but it’s also not as common or as “easy” as other forms of abortion. If we could mobilize against “emergency contraception” (early chemical abortion) instead, we’d probably save more children and make women think more about what they’re doing. At the same time we could continue to use the gruesome PBA as a PR tool. (I still say the ANDA is the biggest pro-life issue out there right now. If it doesn’t pass, Catholic healthcare in the US is doomed.)
