My Sensus Catholicus Says . . . .

A site to which I probably pay too much attention has something new about "Sensus Catholicus" -- a term that seems to have been appropriated in its entirety by integrists. The "SC" is that ability of the faithful to pick up on what is legitimately Catholic and what isn't. The integrists use it to condemn deviation from Tridentine ritual.

It includes an illustration showing a monstrance enveloping a picture of the Blessed Virgin Mother of God, Mary Most Holy. Something tells me that even the highest of all creatures shouldn't be shown in a monstrance as the monstrance is reserved for One greater even than her.

Ironic, eh?
