Art and Architecture note

The church near my office (finished in 1941 with only minimal subsequent modifications) has devotional art on nearly every possible surface. The doors to the priests’ confessional chambers each bear a different image (the penitents' doors are plain). For instance one has the keys and one has a scourge. The one that always struck me as harsh was the one that (I thought) depicted either an electric chair or some other chair with an ominous looking cap. Today I realized it was just a side view of a Prie Dieu. Whew!
