How Can I Sin Like A Girl?
Eve Tushnet posted some great stuff she got from a book about counseling women. It generally applies to me too, though, hence the smart-aleck caption. Three things that really hit me:
(1) sins want to become addictions;
(2) just as there are rituals that are good for us, there are also rituals connected with our habitual sins – disruptions to these supporting rituals (or countervailing rituals) can weaken the habits themselves; and
(3) many habitual sins are really responses to unresolved anger. (I know Eve says unrecognized, but here I diverge from girldom.)
If knowledge is power, then there is a bit of strength with which to fight the good fight.
