Irony

There's an old Methodist church near the office. Actually, throughout older parts of Denver, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a few Methodist churches. Back in the old west, the Methodists were usually the fastest and busiest at bringing in religion and trying to banish all manner of vice -- particularly prostitution and gambling.

Back to the present. The old Methodist church near the office has scaffolds up these days. Today I walked by and noticed that the current work is being funded by the "State Historical Fund" which is itself funded by taxes on casinos.
