highlights of a wonderful day

Had the happy opportunity to attend Mass at Holy Ghost. Fr. Bill, presaging the post from T S O'Rama, mentioned that the baseball season offered us an important sign: It is evident that the Most High has determined that neither the Cubs and Redsox shall win a World Series. Both of those teams are in the playoffs this year. If both teams win their respective league, then, it is necessary to immediately prepare for the end of this world. (I'm pretty confident that we're looking instead at a rematch of 1989: Giants/A's, but with the Giants taking this one.

Another happy event was the final baseball game in Jack Murphy Stadium. Next year big league baseball leaves the southeastern California desert for the edge of downtown San Diego. I'm sure that Petco Park will be a much nicer place to see a game.
