Two updates on the dissenters up the street

First, from the newsletter of the Lutheran hosts of the dissenting group:

One recent Saturday prior to the [dissenting group’s] mass [sic] at 5:30 there were a couple of picketers stationed in the parking lot at [location]. It seems there is some objection to the freedom of the Gospel.

To characterize what Ben and others did as an objection to any aspect of the Gospel is remarkably inaccurate and mean-spirited. It’s quite clear that the people were there to invite those who have separated themselves from the Church to return. Of course St. Paul had a great deal to say about the freedom of the Gospel -- which the Lutheran congregation and the dissenters would take great issue.

Second, the hard copy of the Denver Catholic Register’s official notices mention that the leader of the dissenting group has been dismissed, on his own request, from his order as of September 17 and that he no longer has faculties in the diocese. This is the first time I remember seeing an official notice of a priest not having faculties.
