Idiosyncrasy

As the torpor of summer abates a bit we’re finally enjoying some fresh tomatoes. Many more are on the way, though most will require at least a couple more weeks of waiting. There are yet many tiny yellow blossoms that probably won’t produce ripe fruit before the first frost. Vita brevis indeed. While tomato-lovers will be appalled, I have more desire for the comforts of autumn than I do for an abundance of pomodori.
