Way back when I was an undergrad there was a bookstore in Denver that had the following slogan: “A book is the finest portable university known to man.” I liked the slogan so much I put it on something or other of mine. A roommate (the same fellow who became entangled with the sauce-less sorceress I mentioned yesterday) misread “university” as “universe” – thus was born the concept of the “portable universe”.
