Vita Brevis

. . . so get with it!

Over the weekend I read a rather interesting and useful little book: Leading Quietly by Joseph Badaracco, Jr. of the Harvard Business School. It’s a book that’s useful not only in business, but in life. Prof. Badaracco’s background is in moral philosophy, which is part of why this book is applicable in and out of business.

He points out that leadership is especially important in mundane circumstances and he posits three primary virtues for leaders to practice: restraint, humility and tenacity. I’d do well to practice these.
