Mr. Esguerra makes a meme.
It’s about the liturgical music survey. Good stuff, Maynard!
• My choice for a liturgical song that makes a difference: The Exultet
• Composer, text writer, hymnal, and/or other source: The composer’s identity is lost in the mists of antiquity.
• Please tell us the reasons for your selection: It is a clear, true, beautiful and timeless participation in the Church’s ongoing work of praise throughout the millennia.
• Comments: I’ve heard the Exultet in a modern instrumental setting that robbed it of a good deal of its clarity, beauty and timelessness. To alter this music is worse than putting the Mona Lisa in a halter top
